Memorial Day!
Memorial Day is a federal holiday observed on the last Monday in May to honor and remember the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Originally known as Decoration Day after the Civil War, it has evolved into a day of solemn remembrance marked by ceremonies at cemeteries and memorials, moments of silence, and the placing of flags and flowers on graves. Many people also use the day to reflect on the sacrifices made for the country, attend parades, and spend time with family, while recognizing that its primary purpose is to pay respect to those who gave their lives in military service.
